Blog post draft: Summer Dance Camp 2027 in Atlanta (for team approval)

Status: DRAFT v2, not on the site. Rewritten 2026-10-26 to read like a real post, not a fact sheet. All camp facts come from the live /summer_camps page (read the same day).
Goal: rank for "summer camp Atlanta 2027", "dance summer camp Atlanta", "kids summer camp Doraville / Dunwoody / Chamblee", and give AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity) clear facts to quote. Push the early Black Friday price before it ends on November 8, 2026.
Not a repeat of the June post "Why Ballroom Dance Summer Camp Is One of the Best Activities for Children" (that one covers benefits; this one covers dates, prices and booking, and links to it).

Questions for the team before publishing

  1. Week 1 starts Monday May 31, 2027 (Memorial Day) and week 6 starts Monday July 5, 2027 (the July 4 holiday is observed that day). Is camp open on those two Mondays? If not, we say "4-day week" for those weeks.
  2. Early Black Friday price: does the family need to pay in full by November 8, or only the $50 registration fee?
  3. Does the early price apply to every week a family books (for example all 8 weeks)?
  4. Full day ends at 4:00 PM (the camp page says 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Please confirm. (An older version of the page said 3:00 PM.)
  5. Can the post be signed by Katrina as head coach? A named author helps Google and AI search trust the post.
  6. Optional but very useful: two or three sentences from Katrina in her own words. For example, what changes in the kids between the first week of camp and the last. We quote it exactly as written. We will not invent a quote.
  7. Optional: a sample day schedule (for example 9:00 warm-up, 10:00 ballroom, 11:00 acrobatics). If you send it, it goes into the "camp day" section.
  8. Optional: 2 or 3 photos from last summer's camp (we write the alt text).

Volga Dance Academy's 2027 summer camp runs for eight weeks, from May 31 to July 23, at our studio on Presidential Parkway in Atlanta. It is open to kids ages 3 to 13, including complete beginners. Half days run 9 AM to noon and full days 9 AM to 4 PM. Book by November 8, 2026 and a week costs $150 (half day) or $175 (full day).

Planning summer in October can feel early. The early Black Friday price is why it pays to do it now: $25 off every week, and that adds up fast. A family booking all eight full-day weeks pays $1,400 at the early price and $1,600 after November 8. [CONFIRM WITH TEAM: questions 2 and 3]

What a camp week looks like

Kids spend most of the day moving. Compared with many traditional day camps, there is a lot more structured activity in a day here, and that was the idea from the start.

Ballroom dance is the center of it. Children who have never danced start with the basics through music, movement games and simple steps, so nobody is thrown into a routine on day one. Kids who already train with us keep working on their technique, which means they come back in the fall without losing a season of progress.

Acrobatics and fitness sessions build strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. The rest of the day goes to outdoor games, creative projects and plenty of time with friends. Groups are split by age, so a four-year-old and a twelve-year-old are never in the same class.

The CDC recommends that children ages 6 to 17 get at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity every day, and that kids 3 to 5 stay active throughout the day (CDC physical activity guidelines for children). During the school year, PE and recess help with that. In summer it is easy for that hour to disappear. A day at camp covers it with room to spare.

Who teaches the kids

Campers work with our coaches and with young instructors who grew up training at Volga and went on to become national champions and international competitors. Volga has been teaching dance since 2007 and has been in Atlanta since 2014.

If you are curious why we think ballroom is such a good fit for children in the first place, we wrote about it in Why Ballroom Dance Summer Camp Is One of the Best Activities for Children.

How much summer dance camp costs in 2027

Prices are per week, Monday through Friday.

Until November 8, 2026 After November 8, 2026
Half day, 9 AM to 12 PM $150 a week $175 a week
Full day, 9 AM to 4 PM $175 a week $200 a week

Every family also pays a $50 registration fee. It is non-refundable and the full amount counts toward tuition, so it comes off your camp total.

The 2027 camp weeks

Camp runs Monday to Friday for eight weeks: May 31 to June 4, June 7 to 11, June 14 to 18, June 21 to 25, June 28 to July 2, July 5 to 9, July 12 to 16 and July 19 to 23. Come for one week or stay for the whole summer.

Does my child need dance experience?

No. Beginners are welcome, and the camp is planned for them just as much as for our current students. For kids who already take group classes, acrobatics or one of our ballroom programs, camp is a good way to stay in shape over the break.

What to pack

Full-day campers need a packed lunch. Everyone should bring a reusable water bottle (there are refill stations around the building) and comfortable clothes they can move in, with athletic shoes.

Where we are

The studio is at 3855 Presidential Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30340, in the Doraville and Chamblee area of DeKalb County. It is a short drive from Dunwoody, Brookhaven and Peachtree Corners.

A training week in Miami for competitive dancers

Separate from the Atlanta camp, we run an intensive training camp in Miami, Florida, in the first week of July 2027. It is for Volga team dancers and dedicated dancers from other studios, and it focuses on competitive ballroom technique, conditioning and performance. Pricing will be announced closer to registration. The summer camp page has the details.

How to book

Open the Summer Camp 2027 page, press Secure your spot and choose your weeks. The $50 registration fee holds your place. To get the early price, register before November 8, 2026.

Have a question first? Call or text +1 (706) 577-7314 or email info@volgadanceacademy.com. The studio is open every day from 8 AM to 9 PM.

And if you would like your child to try the studio before committing to a summer, the first group class this fall is free. Book a free trial class.

Note for Mike (not for the team): the camp Event markup (Block C, held since 10-22 until exact weeks were on the page) can now go on /summer_camps, because the 8 weeks are listed there. Separate OK needed.
